Charles is a working drummer/musician residing in Nashua, NH, where he currently offers private drum lessons and performs regularly while maintaining a strong sense of family and spirituality.
Charles credits his uncle “Bennie” as his first influence since picking up sticks at age 6. By the time he was 8, he joined the Kings Men Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps from Fitchburg MA. This was his first experience of marching percussion which led to joining the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps in his late teens. It was there where he learned the rudiments, endurance and control that would cross over to the drum set. Also studying with Steve Michaud (a local drum instructor), he was introduced to Funk, Jazz, Latin, and Fusion. Shortly thereafter Charles became an assistant percussion instructor for the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps giving him the opportunity to return to his drum corps roots. Charles has studied with some of the industry’s top drummers; Dave Dicenso and Mike Mangini.
Currently, he is the drummer of the top 40 band “Take 4” ( take4music.com ) and plays drums for his church; New Hope Community Church in Ayer, MA. Over, the past several years he has had the opportunity to perform as a freelance drummer with many local bands as well as being able to showcase his talents at the NH Drum Festival, “Rhythm Fun” and other local arenas. Aside from Charles’ busy performance schedule, he is a private instructor teaching from his home in Nashua, NH. He is the Percussion Instructor/Arranger for Nashua High School South’s drum line, the Spartans/Boys Club Percussion Ensemble, and one of the Nashua School Districts Instrumental Instructors for over 15 years. Acquiring the services of Charles Davis imparts more than a decade of experience and training. Along with his immense experience Charles is very personable whether working with a new band, recording project, student, and/or organization. Many speak well of his personality, style and work ethic.

It was he who "gave gifts": he appointed some to be prophets, others to be evangelist, others to be pastors and Teachers. Ephesians 4:11. Teaching is the most challenging and rewarding job you could have. You need to be patient, listen to the student, determine what skill level they're at and meet them half way. We all process information differently. Some are audible learners and others visual. It is for this reason we need to constantly develop creative ways to motivate and inspire them.

Proverbs 22:6 One of my favorite things about teaching a lesson is what I call "The Light Bulb Moment". From the youngest to the oldest, learning something new is exciting! And when that moment happens, you get a great feeling of accomplishment.

Hello friends! They say,"The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step", so let's get stepping! I am not going to bore your with a long list of rudiments, or hit you over the head with a book you need to buy because it's been around for 100 years... But what I will do is find out what excites you about drumming, and start from there. So whether you are 6 years old or 60, I will meet you where you are! Remember drumming is suppose to be fun!
Hello again! Now we reach the next step in development. This is where we want to re-evaluate basic technique and further build upon the foundation already established. Lets build a groove, develop a pocket and work on our timing while we explore sticking patterns and mixed note rates.
Now we are ready to dig in! Here we will refine your grooves, set up your fills and develop your own sound on the kit. The techniques we used earlier will still apply, we will just define them. We will develop a vocabulary of hand foot combinations and rudiments and apply them as musical phrases to various styles from rock to jazz to R&B.
